What to Expect

ESSENTIALS & ATTIRE:
-
Shoes off before class; socks required for adults and children.
-
Children should wear comfortable clothing. Dresses are not recommended.
-
Please bring a water bottle for your child (if applicable). We do not have a water fountain.
-
No food *NUT FREE FACILITY*, drinks other than water, or toys allowed during class.
-
Restroom and changing table is available inside - please try to use it before or after class during the transition window between classes. We do not have a diaper pail, so please dispose of any soiled diapers in the outside dumpster or at your home.
PARKING & ENTRY:
-
Park in any open spot outside our building. We are located within the 14101 section of the Center Lake Business Park. We are in Building 700, Suite B, on the left side of the road next door to Little Tigers Pediatric Therapy. Look for our rainbow door mat and side garage door to find us! If you have arrived at Hill Country Elite Athletics, you've gone too far.
-
If the door is locked, please knock, and an instructor will let you in.
-
We have a small flight of stairs leading up to our front door. Car seats and Doonas are welcome to be left inside during class.
CLASS FLOW & EXPECTATIONS:
-
Classes start on time to respect all families.
-
Running late? Join when you arrive - we get it!
-
First half of class: Cognitive card set work. Children typically sit on their parent/caregiver's lap during this portion.
-
Second half of class: Physical & motor-skills activities. Caregivers remain with the child throughout.
-
Be ready to participate! The most important person in your child's brain and body development is YOU! Cheer them on - they feed off of your enthusiasm.
-
Have your child sit in your lap (or independently if they prefer) for each set of cards. If your child is moving around, becoming a distraction, or crowding the instructor, please redirect your child and keep them with you. If needed, you can stand up to hold your child off to the side.
-
If your child is having a rough day, sometimes temporarily removing him/her from class to regain control and calm down can be effective. The instructor will do his/her best to get your child's attention back on track.
-
Please keep social interaction between adults outside of the card portion of class to allow all students to focus.
-
PlayWisely is a focused developmental curriculum. While most children adapt to the class structure after a few weeks, the program does not match every child's temperament. Please consult your instructor if you have any questions or concerns.
-
Always assist your child with and on the equipment and during class activities. Do not leave them unattended.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS:
-
Please only photograph & film your child; avoid other children.
-
Instructors may snap a few videos/photos of you and your child during class if you responded "Accept" to our policy upon registration.
-

-
In order to eliminate any distractions, the use of phones for calls/texts is not allowed during class. Phones must be on silent for the entirety of the class.
SICK CHILD POLICY:
-
Please keep your child at home if he/she has a fever (100.0 or higher), diarrhea, or is vomiting. The student must be fever-free for 48 hours (without fever-reducing medication) before returning to class.
